Dayshift 54: Doctor's Office 1 (Dr. Yumeno) [fourth shift]
The young doctor had not grown much fonder of the day as it wore on. Hierarchies were natural, but bothersome, and left a great deal to be desired in the treatment shown toward hospital staff and patients alike.
His lunch break had been spent avoiding scrutiny as well as Daedalus could, though he recognized that the only way to effectively do that was either change the game, or finally leave this purgatory behind him. One did not seem likely right away. The other would require some doing, which he didn’t doubt he was capable of… with the right resources. As his next meetings drew nearer, Daedalus felt more and more like he was hiding in his office.
He sighed, chin balanced on his fist. Maybe he was. As far as appearances went, it changed little. His apathy did little to change his role, either, which was why he fell back in his chair and put on a neutral countenance.
Unless his patients had been otherwise waylaid, they wouldn’t be long.
