Night 53: M11-M20

Dec 13, 2010 13:32

Badd ate his dinner in silence and his roommate afforded him the same courtesy. Tomorrow he'd give the nurses the slip, recapture Kay, give the nurses the slip, and go hunting for the way out of this dump. He had no idea what part of the country they were in but they'd have to run into reliable authorities eventually if they just kept walking. As ( Read more... )

Indy dressed quickly after dinner and outfitted himself with the usual gear (machete, dog leash, scalpel in one jacket pocket and journal and pen in the other). He wanted to move fast; despite his talk with Pilgrim, he hadn't decided on the route that was least likely to include an ambush. Which might be unavoidable anyway, depending on what was down there in the basement. Indy didn't have much of a plan in case of encounters with fire-breathing mythological monsters. See how fast they could run, probably.

As soon as the door unlocked, he slipped into the hallway and strode off.

Shortly after Dr. Jones left his room, his room mate followed. Ludwig had spent quite enough time in fruitless searching and worthless attempts to discover the secrets of Landel's Institute, and he was going to get somewhere tonight. Even if it was just getting a weapon, Ludwig was going to get something done!

And as he walked, he'd have to think about the intercom announcements. Yes, there was something rather interesting in what Martin Landel had said... and he'd have to mull it over. Perhaps things were going to be even more interesting in future days...

At least he'd gotten through dinner without devouring his roommate. This didn't exactly please him per se because normally it shouldn't have even been an issue, but as it was, he could tick off the box in the section marked Things Which Did Not Go Wrong.

His living standards were rapidly slipping.

Damon slipped along the corridor silently, glad that it wasn't crowded and ignoring the few humans that lingered. He would take a look at the chapel despite being pretty sure now that nothing was in there. It wouldn't take long and he wasn't one to take anyone's word about anything if he could help it. If it came up empty like expected, he could, whatever. Who knew? Meet up with Stefan and hunt for bunnies. They could bondYes. Absolutely. Because they were excellent at that, the two of them ( ... )

The conversation had been one Yue had realized would happen eventually, no matter how much he tried to avoid it -- but the fact still remained that he had managed to avoid it up until tonight, and he was now rather less than pleased to have to deal with the situation. This meant that as soon as the doors unlocked and his wings reappeared he immediately headed out, without pausing to consider what Landel had to say. He had nothing to bring with him, given that his flashlight had been nonfunctional for several nights now, but even so he didn't care to delay at all lest Xemnas decide to insist on more questions.

Tomorrow night at dinner was soon enough for that. Too soon, to Yue's mind. For now he had to get over to Touya's room, then the two of them could go check on Sakura. She was far more important than anything else in this place.

Xemnas did not stop Yue when the other left the room given the opportunity; there would be more dinners to converse, and acquiring the desired information would take some time. It was expected. Furthermore, the Nobody had things to accomplish himself.

When he began to take his own preparations however, Xemnas stumbled upon something unexpected in the closet; the coat he had worn before arriving here had been returned to him. All of it. Interesting...he couldn't help but wonder; why would the head doctor choose to do this? For what purpose?

Indeed, he had seen several patients wearing differently. They must have been allowed the very same. Still, it was a convenient discovery: certainly this was far more practical than the greys part of the institute's uniform. He took a moment to change before collecting the other items he required before leaving the room behind him.

Dinner was so nice and quiet when ex-coma victims weren't bitching at him about stocks or how they weren't getting executive treatment or whatever the hell that guy's problem had been. The only negative portion of this new living arrangement was that there was only one slice of pumpkin pie. Pumpkin pie wasn't normally his thing, but now that he was reduced to begging for scraps...

The glory and perks of being an archangel. And all the respect he got, to boot! Normally Castiel's new catty personality would have made him laugh as he threw the kid into a bad porno. Preferably one with a terrible theme, like werewolves or pizza deliveries. Now he couldn't even force the time of day from him ( ... )
