Dayshift 53: Doctor's Office 1 (Dr. Yumeno) [fourth shift]

Dec 05, 2010 18:21

Technically, Daedalus’ day had been scheduled to start later than those of his colleague’s, but he was hardly one to sit on his haunches; he had arrived at the Institute at his usual time and gone to work. With no patients to see during the course of the morning, he had had the opportunity to focus on his tasks without interruption, save for a short lunch break, where he had taken the time to eat and meander around the hospital for a while.

Daedalus had to admit: he wouldn’t have minded sitting in on the ‘paired consultation’ silliness. Counselling was hardly the right label for such a concept, but it was an interesting thought nonetheless. It also begged the question as to why his patient roster was fewer in number than usual--Dr. Weaver’s patients could just as easily been spread out amongst the hospital’s remaining employees, and for his part, he would have had no trouble accommodating an increase in sessions. That, though, was the mystery of the place. Rules could change on a whim.

He’d had issue referring to the facility as fully functioning ever since his arrival, but that was something he continued to keep to himself. Who would I tell, anyway?

The patients, like the repeat one he was waiting on, already believed as much.
