Naturally, the corridor Erika found herself in was devoid of activity. Tonight wasn't the night for sleep studies, which meant Erika could work undisturbed. Or so she thought. As if forgetting she was in the middle of explaining her theory about this board to Stephen, the detective immediately went to the nearest door and jiggled the handle.
Locked. It didn't take her very long to realize that the lock on this door was stronger, one that was not going to yield to force so easily. She proceeded to go down the line, first trying the doors on the left side of the corridor, then the right. Locked. Locked. Locked.
"... It would be a little disappointing if it was that easy," Erika grumbled to herself as she tried the last door, crossing her arms and looking down. "The last thing I needed to confirm my theory... There's no way around it. I'll have to come when the studies are actually done."
The idea of volunteering herself crossed her mind, but Erika wasn't exactly keen on risking that she get discharged herself. She was supposed to trap and torture her opponent, not the other way around, after all. It was a good thing she talked to Lunge and got a name to go by. Tomorrow was when the sleep studies would happen, so she wouldn't have to wait too long. Until then, whatever remained in those rooms would be a mystery to her. Still, it didn't exactly help Erika's irritation and her desire to show off to Sync that her theory was right. But she would have her chance tomorrow, so for tonight, she was done.
"I'm finished here. Let's go." To say Erika's investigation was done was far from the truth; perhaps she could find her proof somewhere else.
