birthday's are kinda bleh, to much emphasis on it being a 'special' day. i was hoping that at least one of my friends would show up to my b-day sushi, but alas they all canceled, some for better reasons than others. so at some point during sushi night i just got frustrated by being surrounded by people who didn't seem to care who i was, or the fact that it was my birthday, so i fled to the roof. the party ended up on the roof later, and by the end of the night i realized that although no hayden folks showed, i had three great friends who were there for me, my roomies who rock. robbo in particular was a total sweetie, a sweetie who now has a really hot haircut thanks to yours truly. my mom and becky were great too, so all in all my b-day wasn't terrible, it just had its moments. my b-day was followed by mikes, which i was considering missing on principle, but ended up attending sober, tired and cold. am i glad i went? maybe, it too had its moments. mike's b-day was followed by robbo's which i think went pretty well for him. the day after robbo's b-day i managed to sleep for 16 hours, normally not an easy feat, but i somehow passed out on my guest bed fully clothed around 6pm and woke up at 10am the next morning. now i guess i am fully recovered and awaiting becky's arrival in about an hour. despite my bleh weekend, i am feeling very optimistic about the next week and the start of school. on a funny note, i learned that there have now been two girls from sushi night who have crushed on super gay phil, not realizing that dj fagatron was indeed a fag...some people's gaydars are really off. mines a bit off too i guess, i also learned today to my surprise that a guy who stays here occasionally is also gay, though to my credit he is not nearly as flaming as fagatron. and yeah, although its gonna be kinda annoying with security and all, i think the republican convention is gonna be a hoot, tons of protests and marches to go to, there will always be something to do. first up, march for womans rights across the brooklyn bridge on saturday, just hope it doesn't make me too late for work.
