Here's a quote I saw in reference to the ongoing Transformers movie fanboy bitchfest. It made me laugh and I had to share.

I'm probably not going to see it. Ignoring any changes they've done with the characters, I don't care for the other aspects I've heard of the movie, and I really don't care for Michael Bay (or any of his previous movies). It's great that they got Peter Cullen and Frank Welker to do the voices of their iconic characters again, and I'm sure the special effects will be fantastic, it'll be a visually stunning film, but I'm also pretty sure the script (the writers don't have anything impressive to their names), directing, and probably the acting as well, aren't going to be anything super. I likes me some internal consistency with my movies, and I doubt Michael Bay's ability to make that work.

And it has Bernie Mac in it. So....no. I have no plan on seeing the movie.

And yeah, some cosmetic changes with the characters are alright, but I don't care for the degree to which the cosmetic changes are being made. It's the same thing regarding the cartoon changes that have been made throughout the Transformers history (Beast Wars, Energon, as well as the toys for them): Using the same names, and drastically changing the look of the character (sometimes supremely drastic changes) that are unnecessary and ridiculous.
