And now the true conflict shall begin. For at the same time we say we want to end all wars and find peace and harmony throughout the world we are also engaged in an obsessed battle to cure all diseases, kill all viruses, and develop genetically perfect humans. Did you know that a scientist has discovered the gene that controls aging? His only problem now is that it is also the same gene that controls cancers. Like war an ever growing population also destroys other species scorches the landscape for centuries, Chernobyl is a good example power for the ever growing masses, our cities spew out insidious petrol-chemical agents and biological agents on the land in the name of comfort.

I am not a war monger. I never wish hardship on any one I care for. I have just been hearing this cry to end all wars for some time now with out any one addressing the conflict that this would cause.

Hollywood has given us a glimpse into our possible futures. We have Mad Max, the world had spun into a final world war that left the land scorch and the few who survived survive by killing for the last bits of resources not destroyed. Then we have Gattaca, were we stopped all fighting and all children are genetically created to be perfect at birth, no diseases no abnormalities, and those who are born with any such imperfections are destroyed.

This is why I ask what do we want disease and famine or war? We can not eliminate both?

And we shouldn't eliminate both. We should eliminate the one that we are responsible for. War.
