Yesterday my roommate tried to give me a speech about how we need to be more careful with the air conditioning since our last bill was very high (nearly $150 for TWO people).
This pissed me off for a couple of reasons. One, during the summer its not a very good idea to put set your thermostat below 72 degrees since then your AC has to work too hard and can break. Hiring someone to repair an AC unit in the summer takes forever. Since I know this I would never NEVER put the thermostat below 72. Two, excuse me, but I'm not the one who comes home from work at five p.m. turns the thermostat down to 65 and then leaves it there until my roommate arrives home from work at ten p.m. and pushes it up. I am also not the one that leaves our dryer running while I go to sleep (our dryer is stupid and has to be turned off manually) and I am also not the one who leaves the lamp on in her room despite having gone to work.
When I pointed that last things out she just said, "Well...I don't know...." Yeah, I bet you don't. Listen I'm pretty pissed about the bill, but don't lecture me about it when you're the reason its costly in the first place. I don't turn the air conditioner down that low and I don't leave lights and appliances on when I'm not at home or have already gone to bed.
And don't get snippy with me because I moved the cats' scratching post next to the couch. I moved it there because the cat was scratching the sofa and if you put its post next to the sofa it will think, "Oh! A scratching post! Now I don't need to scratch the sofa!"(I even made sure it worked by watching it in action) The cats never use the post because you have it tucked into a corner where it isn't obvious and on top of that you never play with or pet either of them around the post so they can remember where its at. I'm just trying to help you out. But hell, its not my sofa and they aren't my cats. If you want a scratched up sofa and ill behaved pets be my fricking guest.
