YULETIDE :D
How is it the 27th already? What? WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE. (Just kidding, I know the answer: it was sucked down a rabbit hole of Star Wars. We went to see Rogue One on Christmas Eve, came home and watched ANH, and then decided to go in flashback order. Which means ESB and AotC on Christmas Day, and then RotS, RotJ, and TFA yesterday. And I'm glad we ended on Carrie Fisher's return to Star Wars, as a way to say goodbye. ♥)
SOMEWHERE in December, I just kind of stopped checking my gifts page, because I was already so thoroughly excited for Yuletide that it seemed pointless. Which means I was ASTOUNDED to discover not the two gifts I'd expected, but four:
Collision Course (3600 words)

I had no right to receive something so fully-realized in response to the "OR KIRA/POP GIRL IF YOU WANT, GO WILD" that I tossed into my letter! Genuinely plausible post-movie fic where a wiped Pop Girl follows her Watcher's vision to Kira, who's still pretending to be Division-and it doesn't shy away from the uncertainty of it all, both Kira and Pop Girl confused about what's real and what's right, and using each other even as they also anchor each other, with the potential for a happy ending still preserved. ♥

A lovely post-book fic about Inanni, and Inanni and Mara, and things that are loved and left behind. The mirrored structure, Inanni in Egypt thinking of Syria and then in Syria thinking of Egypt, is perfect, and IMO Inanni's characterization is spot-on: sweet and emotional and trying really hard to be pragmatic in the small ways she can. And Mara doing her best to take care of Inanni is just delightful. ♥ Wistful and charming at the same time!

Tropey and delightful, with perfect character voices for Three and Six; Three's nightmares and angst, and Six's guilt and angst, are everything I could have asked for from a Three/Six story, and how they grapple with them together and work their way from arguing about them to kind of maybe supporting each other through them is just, YES. YES THIS. So much banter, so many feelings, all the touching. Loved it!
