she knew she could somehow.

OUaT! Besides YAY SHOW I MISSED YOU, I actually have only a few thoughts. I don't begrudge Gold his backstory, and I actually think it makes decent Fridge Logic for why he helped Regina with the curse at all; but this ep felt sort of ... uneventful? I was much more intrigued by the girl's references to being in the trenches - I knew they were recruiting kids for the war to some degree, but I hadn't realized it was all kids, explicitly. I hope they give us a little more background on the Ogre War at some point. I'm not sure how to take Gold's insistence that there's no magic in Maineverse; the thing with the Hatter and Emma making the hat's magic work may have qualified as an exception because Emma, but waaaaay before there was any hint of that, Regina used the glowy magic!heart from her heart morgue to kill Graham, and if that doesn't qualify as magic ... then I'm confused. o.O

Gold might not have known about that, and might genuinely believe Maineverse is magicless, but we've seen that it isn't, and so no matter what Gold thinks there's got to be a reason the knife didn't work. If the explanation is that you can't do new spells, but that pre-existing magic can still work, the pre-existing knife should ... still work. Maybe there's also an exception because Regina? Given that it's her curse that's doing the heavy lifting here? **hands** I can never tell whether I should hang on to these things in the hope that they are some kind of clue or will be explained, or should just forget about them because they're probably a plain old continuity error.

Aside from that, I am SO GLAD Kathryn is alive, yesssssss, and I eagerly await the day when David will be as undickish as James. And the card for Mary Margaret from the kids was priceless. :D Oh, and, fairy dresses: still heinous. D:

Ugh, so many maps still left to do. If I ever get around to some kind of appendix post for ItO, my appendices, they will block out the sun.

Then we will cite in the shade.

Also, I would like to stop being sick riiiiiight now. Now. Now? **sigh**
