bold, cautious, true, and my loving comrade.

The TV retained its brokenness long enough to make me miss Burn Notice last week, which is wretched; and I really ought not to watch it online, because we keep exceeding our bandwidth allotment even without me watching TV online. But I'm guessing it'll be showing again this Thursday, before the next ep, so. I'll just sit here twitching 'til then.

But! It's fixed now, has been since Sunday, which means I got to watch last night's shows, at least.

I have to confess that I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention to the traitor-vice-president part of the plot, because, quite frankly, it felt pretty tired. I learned my lesson from 24, okay: if the president's not evil, then the vice-president probably is.

But Assassin Lady was back, which was pretty awesome, and her maybe-half-a-change-of-heart thing seems to be turning into its own minor plot thread, which is great. Honestly, I am much more interested in the ongoing fight I'm expecting between her and her former bosses than I am in just about anything else on this show. So, you know, they're probably going to have her shot in the head next week. :P

Girlfriend acquitted herself reasonably well, too, though that whole scene about treating Not!Kevin's dire wound in the shadows of a parking lot was really long and a little excessive. Blegh. I have to admit that I kind of enjoyed their little love-in getting broken up by the guy with the gun; I was sitting there thinking, "Okay, great, you're in love; now keep running, for god's sake, you're still in trouble!" and then blam.

I still think they're doing a really terrible job making this whole conspiracy scenario feel at all tense or thrilling or scary. But, hey, at least there was an explosion.

HEARTS FOREVARRRRRRRRRRR. Ahem.

Small piece of crit first: I was disappointed that they killed Emmanuelle Vaugier like that, and, honestly, I also almost laughed a little. First they literally found that one woman fridged, and now the assassin gets put on a bus? Are they reading TVTropes? Also, they got kind of heavy-handed about the general, though, like Law & Order, they were careful to present multiple sides.

But! Kelly Hu was back again, which was great, and I liked General Pak's wife - I wish she'd had more lines. Just the little tiny glimpse of how she handles herself that we got by seeing her get shot in the arm and keep going was pretty awesome. And Chin with the kid! Adorable.

And Danny and Steve! I don't even know what to say. As soon as Steve's Old Friend From His SEAL Days got introduced, I had a pretty good idea what was going to happen, but I didn't expect them to be quite so upfront about it - it took about thirty seconds for Steve to actually use the word "jealous". The fight in the car about Jersey and vacationing and music was SO MARRIED, there are no words. And their little exchange at the end, about picking your friends, and Steve's "I picked you"? PRICELESS. (Also, the wallet check was great.)

Oh, show. Please be like this forever.

Also, my sister and I went contradancing on Saturday, after I sawed some small trees down and gave myself a weird bruise on the shoulder; Sunday, I went over to her apartment for dinner, and made her watch Newsies despite her best efforts to escape. :D To be honest, I was half in love with that movie without ever having seen it, just because of all the stuff I read when I stumbled through the fandom back in the day, so she was pretty much doomed.

But now I should get back to pounding the outline of the next chapter of ItO into shape working on my NaNo filling some more cliché bingo prompts with Newsies work.
