World Wrestling Embarassment
I am a professional wrestling fan , that has never been hidden even in the slightest , even when being such a fan has brought me ridicule and catcalls along the lines of "You watch that crap , Don't you know it's fake you dumbass southern redneck" and in response to those I say this , ... Yes I know it's fake and yes I know all of the outcomes of the matches are scripted ... hell I even know that the majority of the time the violence is coreagraphed .... but I DON'T CARE .... you see the reason I watch it is for Entertainment value .... it's the same reason some Woman (And Men for that matter) watch Soap Operas .... it's funny. But the more and more that I continue to watch Wrestling I find myself wishing things were back in the old days of the "Sport". The days when there were three major companies in Wrestling , The World Wrestling Federation , World Championchip Wrestling and Extreme Championship Wrestling , ... long back before Vincent Kennedy MacMahon monopolized the business and drove all of his competitors into the ground.
The other thing that I have grown very tired of seeing are tasteless and frankly pointless storylines .... now I've seen alot in my life watching the shows including but not limited to ... Besatiality , Rape , Racisim , Abortion , Gay/Lesbian Angles , Abuse and Expliotation of Woman , Necrophelia , Satanism , Usage of Relegion , Drug Abuse , Kidnapping , "Who's The Father" gimic's , Pedophelia , Incest , Racial Sterotypes ,and much MUCH more .... but right now they have started a gimic that is even to sick for even my tastes ....
To catch those non fans up to speed , ....This past monday on RAW was to be held a Draft where all wrestlers could be drafted to other brands .... yet the show ended with the owner and chairman of the WWE Vince MacMahon getting into his limo and the car promptly exploded .... killing Mr. MacMahon .... now note how I wrote that ... killed Mr. MacMahon ....not Vince ..... he;s not really dead just the charcter he played is now dead. Now this may not sound like a big deal and all but consider that they made a total mockery of real deaths that have happend in wrestling by holding a "Tribute to the memory of Mr. MacMahon" including the typical "Ten Bell Salute" and the wrestlers all crying and giving there memories of the man ....
What makes this sick to me is that just about two years ago Eddie Guerrero died a ttragic death that was real ... and they did less of a tribute for him .... when Owen Hart fell eighty feet to his death on a live pay per view they merely said "Were saddend to tell you that Owen is dead ....Now here is the main event of the show" .... just move the dead guy over and lets get tot more wrestling .... it's disgusting..... And now the real life death of "Sensational" Sherri Martel was given a thrirty second picture and then they went back to this horrible "The boss is dead" angle.
You DO NOT make fun of Death , .... Death is serious .... and now there not only trying to play it off that Vince is dead but there turning it into a "Who Dun It" Murder Mystery right out of Nancy Drew.
What happend to the days of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin driving out in a beer truck and hosing down "The Rock" with beer? ..... or such great clasic wrestling matches as Chris Beniot vs. Dean Malenko .....even the hardcore violence of Raven vs. The Sandman ..... Wrestling is quickly dying in my eyes and it's gotten to the point where I'm ashamed of even watching it anymore ....
You know Vince did not die ....but the credability of the WWE got the final nail in it;s coffin as far as I'm concerned ....
R.I.P World Wrestling Entertainment .... from now on you can catch me watching TNA only until ROH gets it's show.
