Drabble
Well I have been introduced to Drabbles by Marina aka blackcurrants and Helen aka oxfordgirl. Drabbles are extremely short works of fiction of exactly 100 words (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drabble) and here is my first attempt at one.
I don't consider myself that good a writer and this is a failure as it is I think 103 words but ho hum I will have to try better next time.
Bored in Port D'Henri
The Comte was bored, it was as simple as that, there were many new things in the New World but there were so many things he missed. There weren't the social occasions to meet new people in the same way also he was too prominent nowadays but then we must make the most of the hand we are dealt he thought to himself.
Well there were ways to stop oneself from being bored he supposed Marie-Anne should be arriving soon and in the mean time he could write a few letters.
Sitting down he put pen to paper
'Dear An......'
Edit: oh i have just edited it and I think i may have made it 100 words now :)
