Don't commute via the towpath this week

Originally uploaded by Damian Cugley. I came in to work via the streets rather than the river this morning. When I met Alex in the basement car-park emptying water from his boots I felt I had made the correct choice for once.
We have had a meeting and decided to all leave the building by 17:30 today, and to check the company web site before coming in tomorrow morning, on the off-chance that our office's basement as been flooded -- and hence all the building's power lost.
This photo is not a picture of the High Street under emergency gondola control, but of some gondolas I passed on the way in to work last Thursday. Does anyone know who this gondolier troupe are?
