Apartment Searching
This morning parents picked me up so we could get our military id's renewed at Camp Mabry. It only took 10 minutes tops. Last time we had to wait 4 hours, so I'm very happy my parents decided to come to Austin instead of going to San Antonio again. After that we went n ate on Lake Austin, it was nice. Yay for stuffed portabello mushrooms!
Since we had much of the day left, my parents decided they wanted to take me apartment hunting. The first place we looked at I thought was going to be way too expensive, but when I told them that I was going to be attending AOMA, they said that they give those students a 10% discount. So it actually turned out to be the cheapest place we found (unless I want to live in an efficiency for just $100 less). The only thing was they had a meeting going on at the time so they couldn't show us a model, but said to call or come back later and they would. So we checked out a bunch of places after that, but nothing compared to the first one. Later on we went back, looked at the model and I totally loved it, and so did my parents. I knew we weren't going to find a better deal because of the pricings I've already done so far, and they only had one one-bedroom left so I went ahead and did the application. They'll call me tomorrow morning n let me know if it went through. So hopefully, at the end of this month I'll have a cooler apartment that's $100 a month less than what I'm paying now, and is right across from AOMA and Sun Harvest! w00t! She also said that there's about 17 other students/teachers from AOMA that live there, so that'll be way cool. I hope I get this place, I'm very excited! The only thing that sucked was that I had to sign the lease til September 18th. Oh well, time will help me figure that one out. Time for me to go chill with my roomie. Nite!
