Waste of Talent

So, an unfortunate reality in TV and movies, is that as men age, they still get leading roles. As women age, they get pushed to the side. (There are exceptions, but for the most part, this holds true.) I think this is extremely unfortunate. As with any craft, you get better at it the more you do it. Actors get a much longer life span, and get more time to hone their craft. Not fair, really.
They're judged solely, in a lot of ways, on their ability to 'look young', and beauty is a lot more than that. As is talent. And the ability to act.

This is something I think video games can help with. Voice acting is evolving, with the way facial animation and lip synching works, it still requires a full performance by the actor. (The animators work better with the reference. Characters are much more life like with body language that suites the dialogue and the voice.. somethings a good actor brings to the table.)
Random rambling, and thinking it's a waste of talent and a horrible double standard.
If I ever need a female lead for a project and I can afford them... Give me Carrie Fischer, or Sigourney Weaver, or Nichelle Nichols, or Virginia Hey.
I'm a geek, sci fi actresses come to mind easier.
