Mitch fixed my Mac problem last night.
After searching through the internet and my "Switching to the Mac" book we figured out that somehow the Home Folder got renamed. Now, it was exactly the same name it had always been because I didn't even know HOW to rename a file when we tried to. All I can gather is that I somehow moved the icon while changing around things in my dock/sidebar on Monday. I mean, I must have moved it, but I don't see how that can be so easy and completely screw up my settings like that. That just should NOT happen.
I was really frustrated last night and in tears about wasting $1500 on the piece of crap that is my MacBook. I'm really not seeing what everyone else is seeing in this thing. I've had a lot of problems with it already and maybe some of that is learning the ins and outs of the Mac OSX or something (obviously last night is an example of just that). I just thought the Mac was supposed to be "So easy to use" and "User friendly" and all this, but I'm really finding that for me it is not easy to use.
So finally after trying to coax my Home Folder back to where it should be and name it what it should be named and all that crap that didn't work. Mitch finally just manually dragged all the contents of the REAL Home Folder into the folder posing as my Home Folder. Then logged out and back in and TA-DA! Everything was there (THANK GOD). I'm just really pissed that something like that can even happen. That i could somehow change that without even knowing that I did.
As pretty as the MacBook is, right now I'm really wishing I had gone with the cheaper PC laptop. I mean for what I use it for I don't really think it would have made a difference.
I did however download a widget for my dashboard last night that gives me a new Homer Simpson quote every time I open it. So, maybe that is in fact worth $1500.
