[Oh, look, it's Petronilla the Porcupine! She's somehow managed to turn on the communicator, and now she's staring at you. Looking displeased

[Sveta was making her own rounds through the barge, trying to find her inmate, trying to find people who might be hurt, and trying to find something to do that didn't involve sitting around in the infirmary.
She paused, seeing a small form there and moved forward.] Hello? Who are you?
[...oh, it was Svetlana! Petronilla Porcupine had a brief tussle with herself whether she could trick her warden, try to harm her, or try to convince her warden that she was, in fact, her inmate.]
You should know me. I'm your inmate.
[She hopped off the couch, waddling on over to her warden. She lifted her nose and sniffed.]
Not that you can understand me. No one can, it seems.
[Sveta knelt down and tilted her head to the side. She assumed that the creature couldn't be understood, but it was definitely one of the barge folk. Time to play twenty questions.]
Do you need anything? [She put her left hand on the floor.] Yes. [And her right hand.] No.
Just go to whichever side it is. [A pause.] And try not to stick me, please.
[The thought of food and a bed was winning the should-I-harm-Svetlana war going on inside of her head. Besides - she already stuck somebody before today.
She hobbled on over to Svetlana's left hand, looking up at her expectantly.]
I could probably say anything I wanted to you right now, and you'd never know.
[She kept her hands flat, not even touching the quills with her fingertips.] Thank you. [She started walking carefully out of the common room, finding a place up the stairs where people had set out water and food for the little prey animals.
Carefully, she put the porcupine back down so she could get what she needed.] Is there any way for you to tell me who you are? Can you spell it in any way?
[If Petronilla had been able to complain about being forced to eat and drink off of the floor like some common mutt, she would have. As it stood though, she was very, very hungry, and couldn't exactly communicate with her warden.]
I can't read or spell, you know that.
[The porcupine huffed and ate a little food. She'd probably remain anonymous for the rest of the flood, which was both good and bad.]

Hopefully she wouldn't accidentally stick her. Petronilla only wanted to hurt people on purpose.]
