Here's a plug for a new online project by C.J. Cherryh, Jane Fancher and Lynn Abbey,
Closed Circle, an online outlet for e-book versions of their work, particularly older backlist titles that are hard to find in hardcopy versions.
Given that many of these older books were sold before e-book rights were written into contracts, the authors are taking back control of their own work (at least electronically), and working to get it out to the readers directly. Cherryh summarizes in a guest blog post
here. I think it's a fabulous idea, myself, and I've already printed off their promo flyer to copy distribute at conventions I attend (possibly bringing coals to Newcastle here in the Northwest, since that's the authors' home territory, but it seems the least I can do to repay hours of reading enjoyment).
Power to the people (and the authors and the readers . . .) :D
Anyway, on to answering comments and emails nao (well, after Aleska and I trim Tippy's claws, anyway). Thanks for being patient if I've been owing you a response on something!
