Was killing some time in the lab while folks from another lab got started using our fluorescence scope for the first time -- they wanted me around in case they had questions and I didn't want to be doing anything absorbing (even as absorbing as answering more emails or comments or anything) since I figured they'd interrupt me every 5 seconds (which they did). So, I dinked around on Yahoo and found a link to this excellent article/commentary on the effect of changes in the media on popular science writing:

The folks from the other lab are in their groove now, so I'm off to go feed fish and other science-tech-y stuff.
Moving update: didn't get as much shifted as desired, but OTOH things are shaping up nicely in the new digs. I think it'll be a good place to live.
