I bought a Glacier Bay 6inch 'rain' type shower head on ebay for $17 w/ shipping. I am contemplating a curved shower curtain rod 'cause the CircusCircus had one in the room and I thought it had mad style. I just went to Wal-Mart and got long curtain rods because the windows here are just over 60 inches, and the ones at Hotel California were 36's. I did not need new double brackets tho, I have really nice ones I brought. I am going to put my fancy living room drapes in my bedroom. They are burgundy, fully lined, and were pricey. I guess I should get a bed spread with some dark red in it. The one I have is getting worn and I think I'll take it to Pennsic next year and leave it in storage. That way I won't have to ship bedding every year.
There is no cabinet hardware-the cabinets are grab and pull. I have crystal shower curtain hangers, I like vintage crystal knobs. I am about to be a vintage crystal coat hook on the back of the bathroom door for clothes and towels.
I got tagged with paint by some merry pranksters on my outer wall. I figure my boss will send Jose (or more likely his crew) to come powerwash it off. My maintenance man is Jose, a short mustachio'd guy who is probably made of muscle. He generally plays with his iPhone while his brother gets on his hands and knees and wields the wrench. It's a good gig if you can get it. They send Jose's crew to me because I speak Spanish. I am shocked at how few non-hispanics speak Spanish here. There seems to be a knee jerk reaction among anti immigrationists to NOT learn Spanish. My Spanish gets better everyday because of immersion. I pull a lot of off the lip because many sounds are outside of my hearing range. It took ALL DAY pretty much at DMV to get my drivers license. Then I was rewarded with a print out stating the permanent one will be mailed to me. WTF? All that for a print out? It used to be real easy to get a drivers license but they are denying illegals licenses so they make it about as complicated as a passport to get one. I had to provide a birth certificate, a social security card, and my VA license.
I just had a lady try to get off my property and it *just* after nine....so she was stuck. She wisely honked her horn and I went in my office and commanded the gate to open. Wooooo. Las Vegas has the same issues as the 'hood-but everything is nicer here. Even the people are nice. I hear tell from oldtimers that it was better when the Mob ran everything. They say the corporate casino structure is all $$$ and nobody cares about people.
Yeah, about that. My grandfather was Black Hand-the Irish crime syndicate that Al Capone competed against in The Boston Beer Wars back in the days of prohibition. I am here to tell you it was all about $$$ then too only my grandfather had a crew that would knee cap those who failed to pay ontime. With a hammer. Now people put there house or car note up as collateral, or they fall behind on their storage. For that misdeed they get to meet me.
