Montpellier -> Carcasonne -> Encamp, Andorra = 328 KM
This stretch may not sound like very much, but since we were doing a lot of mountain driving, it's not the same as highway miles - we had to take it slower, meaning we did in face spent some good time in the car. Nevertheless, an exciting day!
First, a last glimpse of Montpellier...

Back on the road again! Heading to Carcassonne.
Carcassonne, the wonderfully medieval fairy-tale looking enclosed city:

The higher we got, the crazier the fog! At this point, we're almost in Andorra.

Some cool tunnel pics! Although it cost a few Euro, we took this newly bought tunnel through some mountains, instead of taking the long curvy mountain roads (which would have taken longer).

This is typical Andorra: a bunch of such cities, buried in the mountains.
Practically three-fourths of the hotels (most of the buildings are hotels, I swear) were closed - they're probably running full throttle at winter-time for the ski tourist season, but at the moment there's no one around!

Well, at the end of the day, we found a GREAT place in Andorra to stay overnight - with it being dead NON-tourist season, they were practically ecstatic to have something to do. We were given a bottle of wine with only haveing to pay for one glass, because Hannes had ordered one glass but they had to open the whole bottle anyway just to give him a glass. With no one else around to drink the rest, they just gave it to us.
Yes, that's how much is NOT going on in Andorra! But hey: Traveler's Century Club +1.
