In Memorium

It took me two weeks to reach a point where I could write about my mother. Vessie was 89. She died October 25th in Detroit.

She was a beautiful woman. She'd been a model. There are still pics of her with cars and furs and she commanded that you look with an inborn charisma that drew people into her orbit like a comet streaking across the sky.

It's always hard to say goodbye.

There are always things you wish had been different.

Mother was one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. She was small, elegant and intelligent. She always wanted everything around her to be perfect.

I hope her heaven is all she wanted it to be. I know Dad was waiting for her with open arms.

I watched them dancing together once. Grace and beauty, their smiles only for each other. May they dance together again with the same joy.
