There are a number of new people around these parts, and...I like lists. And today is my last first day of school. Okay, there is grad school, but it's not the same.

Therefore, here is an introduction in 37 facts (this is also on my profile).

1. Please call me Rie.
2. I'm 21.
3. I read a book a day or the equivalent on most days.
4. I play the keyboard, but not very well.
5. I'm on the cusp of alto/mezzo. I like singing.
6. I'm politically moderate and socially liberal.
7. I have three blank books: a raspberry colored book for pasting in others' original fiction, a cobalt book for fanfic, and a blue book with silver birds for a journal/scrapbook.
8. My favorite books are Secret Scribbled Notebooks by Joanne Horniman, Follow the Blue by Brigid Lowry,Born Confused by Tanuja Desai Hidier, Girl Goddess #9 by Francesca Lia Block, and Milking the Moon by Eugene Walter.
9. Watercolor is my favorite medium, but I usually work with pen and ink or colored pencils.
10. Wearing wings makes me happy.
11. New York City is my heart.
12. My favorite restaurant is Alice's Tea Cup Chapter II on the Upper East Side.
13. Marc Chagall's work delights me.
14. I live with a dad who likes model trains and war games and a brother who wants to be a 1920s investigator researching the Deep Ones. I also like model railroading and the Lovecraft Mythos.
15. I've never finished a novel, but that hasn't stopped me from starting about one a year.
16. My first video game system was a Sega Master System, but I'm a Nintendo girl through and though.
17. I find these things fascinating to read about, but do not actively participate in them: glamourbombing, ghost hunting, urban spelunking, the history of steam engines, and performance art.
18. My favorite meal is cheese tortellini with pesto sauce.
19. I'm a recovered anorexic.
20. I like jewelry that looks edible.
21. My style is Shabby Chic Geek: Comfortable seperates with fun accessories and the occasional Hot Topic T-shirt.
22. I believe in art.
23. I like lists of things to do. Like the ones by Keri Smith and Sark. They comfort me.
24. I dance around the outskirts of fandom. I read lots of fic and roleplay, but I don't write any fanfic myself.
25. I find the sociology of the fandom community fascinating.
26. There is no fact 26. There is no Mrs. Zarves.
27. The first chapter book I ever read was Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume, when I was six.
28. At the same age, all I wanted for Christmas was a pet velociraptor.
29. I have a job I love very, very much, as a writing tutor for my university.
30. I think the Oughties are a grand decade to be living in.
31. When I grow up, I'd like to work in children's publishing, or for a museum or gallery.
32. I don't believe in fairies, but I do believe in ghosts and UFOs.
33. I always make a wish at 11:11.
34. There are over 400 books in my personal library, and it keeps growing.
35. My favorite movies are Amelie, Kiki's Delivery Service, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and Labyrinth.
36. I harbor secret dreams of having a midlife crisis and learning to be an aesthetician.
37. My daydreams are almost always set to music.
