Lots o' pics and text behind the cut!!! (I'm x-posting this to knitting, that's why it sounds a little funny)
The first is a set of
Fetching from knitty. I love, love looooove this pattern. I am planning on making a lot more of them and I have already been asked to make them for two friends. I used Cascade Sierra, which is a wool/cotton blend and US 6 DPNs. It's the first time I have worked with this yarn and I really enjoyed it. I also liked the way it knitted up with this pattern. I added an extra cable section to make them longer. The next time I make them, I am going to make all of the cable sections the same length (the pattern has the first cable section one row shorter than the rest) because it kind of bugs me this way.
My next FO is a Spiral Rib Hat; the pattern is by Ann Norling. I've been meaning to make it forever. The pattern is really nice because it gives you instructions based on whatever gauge you have, so you can make it with any yarn and and size needles. I used Cscade Quatro on US7 DPNs and a circ. This hat knit up super fast and is amazingly simple. A very mindless knit. The yarn is fabulous and I am so happy that I have a ton more (I got a bunch at a clearance sale, yay!).
My last FO is my first
Swell from knitty. I used Cascade Quatro (I told you I had a ton of it!) and US7 DPNS and circ. I made the small because I have a ridiculously small head, so much so that I normally buy kids baseball hats. This one turned out to be the right size around, but a little too short. I am going to rip back a bit and add some rows, but it only needs about an inch more. In general, I liked the pattern and it was a really fast knit; I finished in two days. The shape is great; it fits really well and has a lot of room for customizing. Someone had commented that the pictures in the pattern didn't seem to have the two rows of purls at the brim of the hat; I put them in and I like the way it looks and it helps keep it in place.
This is my second Swell that I started yesterday. I am going to do the wave pattern on this one. Right now, it's just two little earflaps (Cascade 220, are you surprised??)...
