Sixth Week, Saturday (10/11/2003): Peri's journal.

There are plans for later, of course, but fro right now, she's enjoying a moment of quiet and solitude, thinking about the events of recent days. Peri lets him lead the way, and begins to look around. She's surprised at the clerk's comment, and turns toward Tommy Lee, one brow rising. "You did something sneaky..."

When the clerk returns, she starts to laugh delightedly, examining the hat and boots, and trying the hat on to model it. "What do you think? I don't wanna get the boots dusty just yet but I definitely wanna wear this today." She leans in and steals a kiss. "And you, sir, are sweet and full of surprises."

Tommy Lee grins; "I try darlin' girl. I try. I specifically asked him t'get the boots an'the had in 'Fuck me red.' - looks like he got it spot on."

Peri laughs and models the hat with a big smile. "Well, does it scream 'fuck me' or what?" She turns to the clerk and asks, with a wink, "Did he really tell you that? And... anything special I need to do to care for these to keep them in good shape with a boyfriend who has a thing for ripping my clothes off?"

Christ, she's fifteen?

The clerk laughs; "It's exactly what he asked for, Miss. And not really - we can clean the hat for you if it needs it, but it's treated to be pretty waterproof. The boots just need a regular shining, and mink oil in the winter to keep them dry. I put a can of the polish for them in the box."

Tommy grins; "I've got a shinin' kit darlin'. I'll ya how t'take care of 'em."

Peri laughs at that and tips said hat at the fellow, in mimicry of Tommy Lee's occasional gesture of the same type. She nods again, and says, "Great! I polish my Docs," and she holds up a foot to show the boots off, "So it's probably not all that much different."

She giggles. "These are so cool. Damnit, I wanna wear 'em now but I didn't break them in yet."

Tommy Lee grins; "Well hell, darlin'. We'll just get ya a pair o'heavy socks, an'ya can wear 'em till they ain't comfortable. No time like the present t'break 'em in."

Peri smiles and tugs up her jeans leg to show off... heavy socks. "All covered, I can just switch..." She giggles and moves to find a place to perch and switch her Docs for the cowboy boots. "See," she tells the clerk, with a teasing grin, "Tommy Lee won't be happy until I'm actually drawling and I actually have a clue how to line dance."

She winks at TL and adds, "Of course, I get my revenge by feeding you cheese steaks and trying to make you tawk like dis."

He snickers to that. "No way, Darlin'. I'll take th'cheese steaks though." He leans in and steals a kiss. "Happy girl?"

Peri laughs and mmms. "I like cheese steaks." She returns the kiss warmly, snuggling in a bit, and says, "Very. Do you like this on me?"

TL chuckles a little. "An' I like cheesecakes, so we're all good. Th hat looks good, baby."

Peri grins and says, "Wonderful! I like it too! And I know how much you like cheesecake, Tommy Lee... you certainly devour it with enough enthusiasm..."

He laughs to that; "I got one request though... no spurs!" He kisses her softly and notes; "Y'all keep this up an'I'll have ya eatin' grits soon."

"Awww... no spurs? Not even little ones?" She pouts and shakes her head. "Actually, I have to ask now. What exactly is a grit, anyway? I thought it was sorta like a mix of oatmeal and wallpaper paste."

[hillbillysidhe]

He laughs. "It's corn grains that've been ground up an' boiled, basically." A beat; "Now if Ash wants y'all to have spurs t'use on him, that's fine.. but they ain't comin' near me, darlin."

Peri just laughs and shakes her head. "I just wanted them for the sake of making jingly-jangly noises. They just sound so cheerful." Peri, dear, what are you smoking?

She giggles, tugging him toward the door. "Funnel cakes and rides."

He grins, and follows her out, pausing to pay the shopkeep, leaving a nice tip. When they get to the truck, he opens the door for her, then goes around and climbs in. Belting in, he asks; "So what're your favorite rides? An' why'da I think I'm gonnna regret askin' that?"
