Thanks for your concerns you guys! I am in no danger of flooding here. Everywhere else is going under though. The CBD is closed and inundated. Many suburbs under. they are predicting 40 000 houses will flood. Already three thousand houses in Ipswich (just up the river) which is peaking at 20 plus metres! Fuck! Can't really go and check things out though because I don't want to rubberneck so I am stuck watching the tv like everyone else. The sun is shining amazingly but still the river will rise to 5 and half metres by tomorrow. It's a bit bizarre having nice weather (very steamy though) while the city fills up with water. But it's also a relief because the rain has been relentless for the last week and the ground is dangerously wet....
It will go higher. Tomorrow is a king tide and the river is relentless. The debris and destruction is immense and spectacular. Considering the massive infrastructure damage right a long the Eastern part of Australia, there has to be some serious fall out. Plus there are always scavengers about in times like these...you need to keep a sharp eye on your property even if it's not flooded.
