Power: Mystique is a shape-shifter. She is able to shift the arrangement of her cells in order to replicate another person perfectly, needing only to have seen a picture of the person to be able to duplicate them entirely [including their voice and any physical anomalies.] Due to recent events and after being exposed to a high level of radiation, Mystique's natural form has taken on a more reptilian feel and this has also altered her powers. Mystique's shape-shifting does not rely entirely on human factors and she is able to grow talons and wings, and even alter what she already has such as giving herself 'night vision'. She is also able to fabricate clothing out of her cells, including full body armour and even weaponry in the form of laser pistols. She is immune to disease and poison and heals at an accelerated rate. She is gifted with enhanced agility and constant youth. She has an aptitude in martial arts and stealing, and is immune to telepathic attack or intrusion.
Limitations: Though mystique can duplicate being a person, this does not involve duplicating their powers. If strained in her alteration to her body she can knock herself un-concious at which stage she'd loose her transformation.
Appearance: Though a shape-changer Mystique's true form stands at around 5'11, she has blue scaled skin, yellow eyes and red hair. In her 'human' form, she is the same height however she has a natural complexion and blond hair. Mystique's appearance is subject to change at any time depending on her whim and she is known to have many under-cover aliases.
Personality: In short, Mystique is a self interested sociopath. She lacks morals and can be seen at times to be insane, mostly due to her having been in the world for well over one-hundred years. She is a fast-acting witty woman who craves power. She is talented in deception and subterfuge and is a brilliant actress and she's extremely perceptive, especially of people. Mystique is willing to do anything to achieve her end goals, including acting in a submissive position, making her extremely manipulative.
History: Mystique has been around for a confirmed over one-hundred years. Her earliest history is known when she met her lover Destiny at the beginning of the 1900's. She's been involved in many examples of international espionage and has been in frequent run-ins with the group known as the X-Men. During her life she has given birth to two children [One of whom was the son of a mutant who went by the same name as the devil, the other grew up to be the president of an anti-mutant organisation] and adopted a third in the form of Rogue. She believes that mutants are truly the superior half of the human race, she then goes on to lead a band of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants to try and gain control of the world. More recently, Mystique has relinquished her control over the Brotherhood, preferring to let them take care of themselves and also leaving Destiny while she went off to join Team X in search of Rogue.
Recruitment: Mystique received a letter from Emma Frost detailing an invitation to the Team X group. Though full of implied threats and under a more 'Do this or we have you arrested' structure, Mystique chose to go along with the invitation in order to keep a better eye on Rogue and of course to get her fingers into the pie of the X-Team.

Personal LJ Sampe: Another day, another organisation to join. Except this time I won't be calling the shots, it's a shame really that Rogue thought it necessary to run off to join this little unit of the government. But at the same time, maybe I'll find a little something for my troubles while I'm at it.
Third Person Sample: Mystique had just been raiding a military base under the cover of nightfall, she'd received an anonymous tip highlighting that plans for a new breed of genetic-weaponry was being created within their labs. So under the guise of a military doctor, she gained access to the building and soon found herself hacking various computer stations and sifting through confidential documents in order to find what she needed.
Idly tapping her fingers onto the desk beside the keyboard, Mystique finally finds the document under the name of the project she was looking for, only to find it locked with a password. In seconds, she's already opening the right commands to hack these kinds of files and a small smirk crosses her lips when, as usual, she cracks the code. Scanning through the contents, her smirk becomes a frown, and then an out-right glare when what she thought was going to be detailed plans was instead an invitation if you'd call it that to join Stryker's X-Team
She closes the files, eliminating all traces of her activity within the office before standing and rolling her shoulders, she'd make a quick trip back home before making her own way to the Fort in a few days.
