This has been a week I hope will not repeat itself.
On Tuesday I prepared for the new fridge by pulling out the old one and cleaning the floor under/behind it (for the first time in 16 years). You can guess how much dirt that was. Early Wednesday I brought my coolers in from the garage and filled them with food. The new fridge was in place by 10:00 am and I then tried to figure out how to put everything into the new. Of course it was configured quite differently from the old but everything fit. I miss the ice maker already. Once I am working again I will buy an ice maker.
My plan for Wednesday afternoon was to get a new battery for my aging cellphone but that had to be postponed because my computer wasn't working - at all. A friend loaned me a used monitor and that didn't help. He came over Wed evening and could not find the problem. So I spent most of Thursday at another friend's house and she determined that the newly borrowed monitor did not work. So off to Frys to spend money for a new monitor.
Friday morning Verizon told me that my cellphone battery was not removable/ replaceable. But it has been 2 years, so I got a new phone. In the afternoon I was putting computer parts and cables together and could not find the power cord for the modem, so the local AT&T store sold me a new power cord. That didn't solve the problem so on Saturday instead of going to A&S I bought a new modem and kept fiddling with computer cables. Saturday evening I was on the phone for close to an hour with a very nice AT&T support guy but could not get the modem registered.
Just now a different geeky friend came over and I am back on line - finally. If I wasn't job hunting this would not have been so stressful.
