Sigh, back from Ushi-con

At the risk of sounding CBG-ish, worst con ever? Perhaps. Man. This con sucked.

Why, you ask? There was nothing. Absolutely nothing. I guess if I were a big 8-bit Theater fan I could have gone to his panels, but that was about all there was. They had a Tenchi Muyo artist as a guest, which is nice, but wasn't Tenchi popular around 7 or 8 years ago? The panels were all blah, and not a lot of good anime shown either. Friday was the best day. Saturday I went to two things--Trends in Anime Music (just waiting for the next panel to start) and Christianity and Anime, 'cause Sam wanted to see it. Not even any anime watched. The only anime I was interested in seeing, Cosmic Baton Girl Comet-san, didn't come on until 11:30 and I was already sick of the con long before that. I felt a like a dork since I just spent the day hanging around Sam and her roommate, but I also couldn't find anyone else I knew and there was absolutely nothing to do. Never saw Tasha, Dan and Amanda probably just couldn't get away from school and work... sheesh.

Today I went to the con for about an hour. I saw an episode of Violinist of Hamlin, which was depressing, and I saw some random anime music videos. The woman running the room was nice enough to take my request to see the Tylor video she had, and it was terribly cute. Almost made up for the fact that I found the booth which had Tylor posters last year, only they had sold the one I wanted, and still had the later-OVAs weird art style Tylor and Azaling poster. Siiiigh.

I did buy two books of One Piece. I like One Piece a lot. These were the books which finished introducing Usopp (4 and 5) and it was very interesting. In fact, I would judge these books to be the highlight of the con. ^_^;

Edit add: Actually, you know what? Usopp reminds me of Bukichi. That's... peculiar.
