It seems I have finally got into the meme wagon. So, here it goes.
Here goes: Comment with "Come at me, bro!"
• I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can get to know you better.
• Update your journal with the answers to the questions.
• Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions.
This is what the Amazing
kag523 has asked me.
1) If you had to select one item to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be? (No, I'm not kidding, I actually have asked this question to people on numerous occasions!)
That is easy, dear K. My name is Claudia and I'm a chocaholic. So, if you mean something I would gladly eat a little everyday for the rest of my life, that's chocolate, preferably dark. Now, since I realize one cannot live on chocolate alone, if I had to eat the same thing everyday for the rest of my life for sustainance purposes, than I'd go with Italian pasta with tuna or salmon and tomato sauce plus nice salad on the side. Add some creamy dark chocolate pie or icecream for desert and you have the perfect meal.
2) Compare who you are today to who you THOUGHT you would be when you were a child. What things were you right about and what things were you wrong about?
I come from a very conservative family so as a small child I often pictured my life as an adult as pretty much a copy of what I had at home - I'd be married, I'd have a husband who would support me, I'd be a mom, I'd live for my family. I truly admire my mother for her quiet strength but she started to become a symbol of what I did NOT want to be. Most of all, I started to crave indepedence, the power to control my own life. That was something very difficult to have in my household. So, as a teenager, instead of simply rebelling, I started planning. To control my life, I needed to be financially indepedent. And I decided that I didn''t ever want to be in a position where you have to settle for something (be it a relationship or a job) for lack of better options or because you need it. I have managed to do that. And I feel good about it.
3) If you had the chance to go back in time and give some advice to your younger self, what would the advice be? And why?
I'd go back to certain moments and I'd say: "Be bolder. Don't be afraid." I'm very assertive about the things I believe in , but personally, I'm very shy and although that is something I have been working on (and boy have I got better), if I had come to certain breakthroughs earlier in life, things would have been better.
4) What's your favorite place in the world?
Paris. I visited it once a few years ago. And it is really funny, because I didn't really want to go. I had this idea that French people are snobbish and conceited and ... I don't really know what I thought. My plan was to visit London and Madrid. But I ended up in Paris and there is just something about that city. I can't explain it but I've fallen in love with it. I MUST visit Paris again.!!!!
5) Imagine that you suddenly wake up, wearing the clothes you are wearing RIGHT NOW, alone and in a country where you do not speak the language? (If you NEED place, go with downtown Moscow, 11:30 p.m. on a Tuesday in early February). What's your survival plan?
Heehee. Thank God for English! It is the international language. Someone will know at least a few words. Besides, I'm Brazilian and Brazilian soccer players are known everywhere (but the US, that is, lol). So, I might mention them to establish some sort of positive rapport with the locals. I guess I'd look for a church, maybe? Churches are always good places to look for help.
