Hello everyone, this is the D’Amantru News Network live from our studio in the city of Ametiton. Today we have a special quest, Miss Tirisfal Farinox. Miss Farinox, we’re glad to have you here.
Thank you for inviting me, though please, call me Tiri.
Of course, Tiri. To begin, you are a woman who has been seen in many different lights, some considerably softer than others. You have been in the news for both your work for charities and children’s organizations as well as the rumors surrounding Mister Derrick Raaz and yourself. Can you describe yourself for us?
An interesting question, but I think I will have to go with optimistic.
In other interviews, you have stated you considered your life to be very full and happy despite events in recent times and the past. What is your secret to your happiness?
I don’t know if I could call it a secret, but I decided long ago even with an extended life, I wanted to live a full and happy life and thus wanted to have as many happy moments as possible. Of course, I could not have done it without my friends and those who support me, but also knowing even bad moments will have their end has been a cause for my… success, so to speak. I’m sorry, but it really is something hard to explain.
No need to apologize at all. You mention your friends. Are there any specific ones you would like to mention?
There are many people I can thank for their support over the years, but at the forefront is Raaz. And now I suppose here come the juicy questions, no? [laughs]
You are correct. The relationship between Mister Derrick Raaz and yourself has something that has been confounding people for ages. In our interview with him, he affirmed you two were only close friends, a statement that has been repeated over the years. Is this true?
Knew this was coming. [laughs] Indeed, we’re very close friends. Raaz is…someone very precious to me. He has always supported me through these years and I find his ideas to be very refreshing and admirable. I hold a lot of respect for him and I would like to see his goals reached and I would do anything to help him. But the status of our relationship is nothing more than a deep friendship.
Do you see any change in the future?
I cannot look into the future, but at this point, I do not see our relationship changing.
Of course. Now, moving onward, you admit you were once a slave owner?
[sighs] Yes, this is something I do admit to, though it was back in my younger-or human years if you will. My family were owners of slaves, and upon their passing, I inherited their business. However, slavery is a practice I do not condone.
What caused your change in attitude?
To be frank, it was Raaz. [laughs] I met him at a party when I was a young woman and we talked and he shared his ideals with me, and well, it was something I had never thought about before, that no matter how nicely you treated someone, by owning slaves you were denying an innocent person of their freedom. After that, I decided I would have nothing to do with it anymore.
An inspiring story. A little known fact is your former estate is now a children’s orphanage. Would you like to comment more on it?
Of course. After the death of my family, Landon Townsend, the family butler, though mark my words, he is less a butler and more a father-figure in my eyes, raised me. When I renounced my life as a slaver, I gave him the Farinox estate and told him he was free to do whatever he wished with it as long as it was something good. He enjoyed caring for children and decided to turn the estate into a children’s orphanage.
[Faces the camera] Many children are left on the streets and without proper intervention, are sold into slavery or even prostitution. Amethyst Homes provides a place where they can be taken care of and given proper schooling, as well as providing jobs in local businesses when they are of a proper working age. Children of all ages are taken in and they are welcome to stay until they are a legal adult. At that point, we can no longer care for them as a child, but they are welcome to stay at the orphanage to work. But for those who leave, many have the skills necessary to find work or already have work and are able to live on their own.
When someone expresses interest in adopting a child, we do thorough background checks to make sure they are not being adopted into slavery. We believe in changing lives and making the world a better place.
A very admirable goal, similar to that of Mister Raaz’s one might mention. Does he help run the orphanage or fund it in any way?
Actually, no, he does not. I do not believe he was aware I ran an orphanage either, though I suppose he knows now. [laughs] But Amethyst Homes has operated without his assistance. The majority of funding comes from donations and numerous fundraisers. We’re a non-profit organization.
Would you like to say more about how people can help Amethyst Homes?
I would love to. We’ll also be holding a bake sale at the end of the month, but we accept donations of clothing items, school supplies, books, toys, and anything else a child would need growing up. Also volunteers to help read and teach the children, prepare food, and a list of other jobs are greatly appreciated.
We wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.
Thank you.
You are welcome. Shifting topics, you have been heavily criticized for your free and promiscuous lifestyle. Do you wish to comment on it?
To be truthful, what can I say? I do not deny my lifestyle, and while there are things I wish I have not done, I live with few regrets. However, I do not encourage people to live the lifestyle I have as it is a very dangerous one. Though there is something I would wish to say, if I may.
The floor is yours.
Thank you. [Smiles before turning to face the camera] To anyone who wishes to criticize Raaz for his relationship to me and think him a lesser man, or even someone immoral, I remind you to think of what he has done for D’Amantru. I challenge you to find someone else who has done what he has done. He has freed thousands of slaves and reunited families, saved countless lives from slavery or death, improved and stabilized the economy and form jobs for thousands, and made the world a better place. And no, the Empire does not count, as they have not done even half of what he has, and he hasn’t even been around for as long. Derrick Raaz is a kind, compassionate man who wishes nothing but the best for the world and all of its inhabitants. You are free to call me whatever you want, but do not attempt to sully his reputation or belittle him for his relationship to me. What I do and have done is not his burden to carry, and do not think for a moment I wish to tarnish his reputation in any form. That is all.
Very strong words, Tiri.
I’ve had time to think on them.
We can tell, but it is a message that should be understood by many. We are now reaching the end of our time. Is there anything else you wish to say?
Live life and enjoy it. Never be afraid to reach for your dreams. Remember to brush your teeth. [gives a toothy grin at the last message]
We will all keep that in mind. Once more, we thank you for your time, Miss Tirisfal Farinox. That is it for now, tune in next time for another interview. This is D’Amantru News Network, wishing all of you a good night.
