I scored a 51 shooting Royal Rounds at archery today. That is the highest score I have ever gotten.
Too bad I screwed up my 30-yard score badly enough for the 3rd round that I only got a 30-something on that one. Not high enough to make my 3-round average come out over a 45. (My second round was a 43).
Of course, since we're rolling up the rug for shooting this summer (we quit during the really hot months, come back in September), now we have to see if I still remember how to do it in a couple of months.
But it was still awesome to score that high. Maybe I'm finally figuring out what I'm doing with a bow. :-)
In other news, saw "Prince Caspian". Not much point in going into plot, or warning against spoilers - I'm assuming most of the people reading my LJ have probably read The Chronicles of Narnia at some point. *g* But this second installment was definitely more satisfying than the first one. The characters had more depth (except for Lucy, sigh. And Aslan, but even in the books he remained more of a symbolic character than a real one). There was more interplay between characters.
And there was actually some cool stuff in some of the individual fight sequences, instead of the canned mass-battle stuff in the first movie.
But they gave the Telmarines the same vaguely Spanish accent that Inigo Montoya has in "The Princess Bride". And when Caspian has his Uncle at swordpoint, asking him what really happened to his father - all I could hear in my head was "My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die..."
*giggles*
But otherwise it was pretty good. This one I may actually want to own eventually. I didn't have any desire to own the first one, or even to ever see it again.
"Ironman" definitely wins for best movie I've seen recently, though. "Caspian" doesn't match that one...
