The state of Samson....

Sep 10, 2010 02:31

So we've had Samson since Friday last week. His adopted "parents" needed us to "take him" for a little while and I didn't have a problem with that.

When he came back to us, he was totally sick, dirty, flea ridden and smelly. I took him to the groomers and had him de-flea'd, cleaned and then got a really good look at him. If on a scale of 1 - 10, he is about a 5. You can see his ribs, spine, and haunch bones. His coat is thinned and looks dingy and he had diarrhea.

So we took him to the vet. The vet gave me something for his diarrhea but gave him a clean bill of health and a flea regiment. For the first time today he's come out of his hidey hole and is sitting next to me on the couch. I'm feeling much better about his progress now and think that he will make a full recovery.

I don't understand how someone could look at this animal and "think" he was "fine". I have pictures of him before he was given to the adopted parents from 6 months ago, and it's not the same animal. The adopted parents of Samson think I'm only keeping him for a couple of weeks. I have to tell them in no certain terms am I going to let him go back to them. What I think is worse in this case is that they also have more animals. I have no way to save them too. I called animal control and they already gave my name to them as the one who called. So much drama.

Hate people who abuse animals.
