Xmortis Photos Are Up!
First off, the college students are back! T.T.'s was packed by 10:30, I'm so glad that I got there right at ten o'clock or I wouldn't have prime space on the stage to dance. It was a perfect night of dancing for me as our guest DJ was New York's Ian Fford of Albion Batcave/bank fame. A perfect mixture of deathrock, whirly swirly twirly, future pop, and the classics.
Speaking of old skool, GlamBoy came out, along with Industrial Steve and isolatory. It was so great to share a stage with them at different points of the night. isolatory went for a deathrock motif rather than his usuall RomantiGoth self and Steve dressed down, but with one of his handmade collars. I went to channel the "spooky little girls" of Switchblade Symphony. (I know, I know, but to the kids coming out to clubs nowadays, mid-ninties is old school, the eighties never happened for them.) There were lots of lovely beauties out but I spend most of the night dancing so I didn't take many photos. That and my camera batteries were almost spent. Apologies to James, who also dressed deathrock and Sasha of irisnoir.com who wore the Ethanol Effects dress from Lip Service's Laced With Poison line. I missed getting a shot of Eloni who was supercute in falls and a tutu. Even the featured dancers got it right with hair, makeup and ripped fishnets on point.
Notes for gothfather, Mr Enthusiasm has been coming back to the clubs for a couple of months now. He still dances the same, and looks exactly the same except with longer hair. None of the kids can dance, you would spend the entire evenings in snark overload if you ever came back home. Also, I know that future pop is not old school, but I have to stop dancing at some point or else I will blow out my knee cap and I can't afford to miss work during peak season. Ian Fford played the extended mix of Miss Kitten's "Rippin' Kitten". During the Misfits, the punks almost started a moshpit on the stage, but had second thoughts and just sang along, pumping their fists into the air.
