The Perfect Moment (It's Not A Meme!)

Feb 13, 2011 22:45

Hello Friends List, I'm feeling chatty today. Describe for me the perfect moment.

What I feel is the perfect moment is when all is right in the universe. When I'm not horribly stressed out about my job, or how I'm going to make ends meet. When I'm not worried about my relationship or lack thereof. It's the elusive moments when I finally feel at peace.

I only experience these moments on the dance floor. Sometimes I am surrounded by friends, sometimes I'm by myself or with strangers. (Or hipsters, but that's a whole issue of strangeness to me.) I get caught up in the lyrics of a particular song and my brain gets transported someplace else. Sometimes it's the endorphins built up after dancing for a good twenty minutes straight. The song doesn't need to have incredibly deep lyrics, but I do need to have some emotional connection to it. Occasionally, the music evokes past memories of better times. Other times I feel a twinge of melancholy, but I'm able to overcome it. You'll often find me silently singing along.

I had such a moment last night when we were all dancing on stage: me, Eloni, Eddie, Xtine, Dan the pirate, our guest drag queen Frita Fries, and our club regulars.

I showed you mine. Your turn.

Somewhat related to this post is that I met this guy at the bus stop Saturday night on route to Heroes. Old School Manray goer who lives the street over from me and is exactly 11 months older than myself. As soon as I got hit by a clue-by-four that he might actually be interested in me, I internally freaked out. My gut reaction was "run the hell away"!
