Sebastian was trying to remain detached even as he paced around the office that had once been his father's. He was going to stick out through this Burning Man fiasco - of which he was getting essentially no where since he just didn't have the connections here that he had in, say, France - then disappear again. That was the best case scenario. Worst case, he had until the middle of January, when the full moon ran him out of town under a sense of sheer self-preservation.
He looked down and caught sight of a notepad his mother had jotted a note on, something in a code Sebastian could work out if he tried. It hadn't been terribly clever, apparently, since they'd been found. Maybe self-preservation in this case meant getting out for a bit and having a distraction.
And maybe he could have a bit of fun in the mean time.
Shaking his head at himself, Sebastian took up a quill.

Your roommate is a pushy sort. Jems' father sends his best, too, by the way. Did you know you had that many people speaking ridiculously highly of you?
