Dalek in Distress! (part 2/2)

Apr 02, 2010 02:41

This follows the adventure of little Dalek Gemini, who came to live with us yesterday.  I wound up getting a Judoon Captain as well as a Sontaran to add to my Doctor Who collection.  Whilst the Daleks had no real opinion of the Judoon, my Daleks went into a frenzy when they saw the Sontaran.  And though Dalek Skaro had vowed to not let the Sontaran cause any mischief, it was soon clear that there would be trouble, for the Sontaran immediately captured Dalek Gemini as he explored a model Bf 109 Messerschmitt with Flak VII.  The Sontaran had only evil in his mind as he tore the little Dalek away from his clan and held him for ransom... or is it something else that the Sontaran wants?

Further angered by the Daleks' approach, the Sontaran jerked Dalek Gemini by his plunger arm, causing the little mutant inside to shriek in pain.

"The further you move towards me the more I further his pain," growled the Sontaran.

The Doctor quickly put his hand against Skaro II's dome and said, "You must do what he says. That Sontaran could snap Gemini's plunger."

Against their own wishes to exterminate the threat all together, the Daleks valued the Doctor's assessment of the situation and quickly pulled away.

To emphasise his threat to the little Dalek, the Sontaran took out the Judoon blaster that he had somehow managed to aquire. He pointed it at the little Dalek, who shrieked, "Exterminate him! Exterminate! Exterminate!"

The Doctor held his breath, expecting the Daleks to kill the Sontaran. But the Daleks hesitated and looked uncertainly at one another. Then Skaro II looked to the Doctor, inquiring in a panicked tone, "Doc-tor, give us orders!"

"Just stay where you are," replied the Doctor as he sighed in relief. He noticed a gold blur moving slowly from view. The Doctor stepped towards the Sontaran, knowing that they had to act fast or Gemini would be killed.

"Sontaran, or Sir, General... if you prefer... do you think this is really wise?" The Doctor shoved his hands in his pockets as he took a few steps forward. "I mean, look around you. You're in a new place; new home, new aliens... are you sure you really want to become their enemy?"

The Sontaran growled at the Doctor and shook the little Dalek by his arm. "The overseerer of this dark planet has assured me that more of my kind will come! And when they do, there will be no Daleks!"

"Oh well, I wouldn't go saying that..." said the Doctor as he watched Skaro sneaking around the back of the Sontaran. "They're pretty adjusted here, and some of them are actually quite nice. However, the fact that you have harassed the littlest Dalek and caused him pain has made you their enemy as well. I am offering you a chance at peace here. Please, let the Dalek go."

The Sontaran smirked. "Sontarans do not negotiate with anyone."

He started gripped the little Dalek and tugged hard at its plunger, causing Gemini to shriek. The Doctor rushed forward, his arms out to grab the Dalek.

From behind the Sontaran, Skaro struck the probic vent, knocking the Sontaran out almost instantly. The Doctor caught the little Dalek as he was thrown into the air.

The Daleks circled the Sontaran's still form, Flak VII chattering excited in German whilst Skaro shouted at it that the Sontarans would never take over. Skaro II was quiet, however, as little Gemini was deathly still in the Doctor's arms.

"Gem-i-ni! Gem-i-ni...you will respond! Respond!" Skaro II commanded.

First there was nothing. Then a little plunger waggle, followed by his blaster. Gemini turned his dome and regarded the bigger Dalek.

"I am hurt but the Sontaran failed at my destruction! The Daleks are still triumphant!"

The Doctor hugged the little pepperpot.

As the Doctor placed the still disoriented Gemini onto Skaro II's plunger and blaster, there came an odd sort of laugh. The Doctor looked over to the other two Daleks and saw that Skaro had decided to come greet Gemini, by travelling right over the unconscious Sontaran. Flak VII was amused.

Once on the ground, a wobbly Dalek Gemini greeted the bigger Daleks, recieving affectionate nudges and dome-pats. The Doctor withdrew so the Daleks could bond with their littlest member.

Gemini decided that he wanted to try the "rest mode" that Skaro II seemed fond of and allowed Skaro II to pick him up. The little Dalek rested his eyestalk against Skaro's and powered down. The Doctor mused, that if the Daleks had hearts, Skaro's would have melted.
