The first opera I truly loved. I saw it at the Collie in 1989, my friend was singing Tatiana and she was awesome. She still is awesome, it was the first show I saw her in.
The Kick Inside, Kate Bush
One of my first albums I actually paid for. I love every track on it, reminds me of happy days, pottering in town with L who is one of my dearest friends, despite seeing her for the first time last year following a 22 year gap. Kate Bush is, IMHO, a consumate artist.
Astronaut, Duran Duran
Well durrrrrrrrrrrr! Why Astronaut? Cos it made me love DD and it's a fucking great album. And everytime I hear it, I am transported to New York, standing outside MSG, about to hear the boys live for the first time. Or sitting outside the hostel, chain smoking, waiting for the coffee shop to open and writing Rue and Si with Fanny Fanackerpan...

When I was incredibly young I very nearly got married *g* And this was 'Our Tune'.
Lark Ascending, Vaughan Williams
*sighs* We played this at mum's funeral; she loved Vaughan Williams so much. We were in the Lake District one time and she heard a lark and pointed it out to me. And I miss her so much... 5th July, tomorrow or today or whenever would have been their 50th wedding anniversary.
