oh, the pain. when, when will this self-doubt end? the thing here, i see, so painfully clearly, is that he can't see the damage that one wrong move has done, and nothing's been done to counter it. ouchie. and i bet you didn't mean to put that in there, but i see it. you always put so much more than what you write.

one thing i really like is here: He can't talk to you tonight he's been unavoidably detained. i like the way it reflects the thinking pattern here, the random swirl of connections that are made before settling into the pattern you establish in the next paragraph.

If he knew, yes, He would be. because He doesn't want you to feel like that, you know it somewhere inside you. But somehow, that doubt creeps in every time He says no, every time He looks away or leaves the room. It is insistent, and in those moments, you can't help but listen.
