Ok So I go in to work today to ride around some more and help Joe (not his real name) out at work. I find out that some other guy who had only been on the job 2 months just got fired and I got the fired man's route after being on-the-job two weeks. Scream! So, now I will make even more money than before. I felt sick this morning. Both beginner's anxiety and sick at my stomach for the guy who was fired. Joe makes me wonder if his wife still ties his shoes. Joe acts as if he is on his second day of the job. He over-complicates every single thing on earth, and I am not making this up. Whenever Joe drives, he has got to tailgate every car/truck/bus in the left hand lane either on the interstate/highway, or four lane roads. Joe is the biggest brake-slammer one could hope to meet. When starting his truck Joe always guns the engine twice for no apparent reason. Since Joe is so freaking slow, he has to work weekends. I used to feel bad for him and tried my darnest to speed him up and help him out. I tried several times to give him some pointers on ways to speed up. For instance, work all of your tickets in one neighborhood, instead of driving all over the 'hood. Joe always insists on wanting to know what the customer wants each month and please everybody's heart out just so. I mean how hard is it? Spray around the house, knock down spider-webs, and spot-treat the inside of the house if asked to. Oh well, some people are just not go-getter's if you know what I mean. I really think I have found the job I really want to do. I know it is a pest control j-o-b but, it pays way better than anyone else has offered me, with my nights and weekends free (for the most part), and it is not hard heavy labor either. The uniforms given to us are sharp looking. Who knows what the future holds.
