I can't believe I just NOW realized why colleges make you take all those extra classes in order to graduate. It's not for the liberal arts education; that's just a front.

It's the money! Fewer classes to take to graduate means being here for a shorter time, which translates into less money for them! If you tried hard enough and didn't have to deal with classes outside your major, everyone could probably finish college in 3-4 years instead of the typical 4-10 years. some fields i understand. doctors need a LOT of training; there just isn't room for errorbut they're the exception, not the rule.
