It's enjoyable to read Megamind watching Roxanne give someone else the third degree, for a change :D I love how he thoroughly enjoys it, and very much enjoyed the threat 'I'll invert his kneecaps'! Niiiiice.

I am enjoying how you've written Megamind so much. His not wanting to presume too much too early, his stress about what to wear (then his bizarre observations about what people DO wear), and how he should appear.

His horror at her saying 'I want Bernard back', not getting that she wants the real him that he showed her when he wore Bernard's face is rather lovely. I'm nearly surprised Roxanne doesn't explain herself a bit further in that part, as she so eloquently says in this part, too 'you wear your heart on your sleeve'.

Jo's introduction to Bernard/Megamind nearly threw me for a loop before I remembered the very first time she met him he was out cold :) I like how Megamind picks up on these little behavioural cues (like the 'scratching ear' signal) quickly.
And I think Jo IS there to look out for Roxanne, but at the same time, she's trying to clue Megamind into the fact that Roxanne really cares for him, and he shouldn't chicken out in moving ahead. That's very cool of her.

The WAY Megamind tries to process this information is really good. I like how he's listening to Jo, but he can't accept what she's saying without further evidence. He's attacking the situation in a very analytical sciencey-type way.

I think the big thing that hits home for me in this chapter is the very last part, with the three 'facts'. Particularly the third one. After everything, and wanting so much for Roxanne to like him, he can't accept that without knowing WHY. And he doesn't think there IS any reason for her to like him. Thankfully we know that's wrong, but it's so frustrating and sad from his perspective.

This fic is epic and I love it.

I imagine that would be really nice, after all of the snark she's put him through.

He observes everything. It's just what he does, in my mind.

XD Jo is one of those people who can't stand to watch her friends make idiots of themselves for what seems (to her) to be no reason. She is also a firm believer in the "input from an objective third party is more valid than input from a biased friend" theory, so she tends to butt in where she thinks she needs to, whether her friends want her to or not.

As a nerd who hangs out with nerds, one thing I've noticed about people who were social outcasts when they were younger is that, no matter how comfortable they are as adults, they tend to be fairly analytical about social situations. Possibly because science/computers/mathematics/[insert geek stereotype here] never failed them the way other human beings did? I don't know, but anyway, that's kind of how I see Megamind. Human interaction makes no sense to him, but he always knows where he stands with experiments and equations and hypotheses.

Yyyyyep, that's his problem right there. He can't figure out WHY she's still interested, so he's wondering if she really is or if he's just misreading her. He's probably inclined to go with the latter possibility, since in his experience it's the more probable. But it is really frustrating and sad.

^^ Yeeeee! Your comments are amazing. I'm so happy you like the fic so much!
