I am very much upset!
I was looking up reviews for uptown girls and noone seems to like it. I really worked hard on this movie I'm sooo sad! :(
HERE'S PART OF AN ARTICLE:
"For some reason, Boaz Yakin has directed the talented Fanning to behave as obnoxiously as possible, while Murphy is utterly enamored of her own charm. Combine two mannered performances with a script intent on achieving maximum cuteness, and you've got one wince-inducing sugar rush.
Worse, however, is the movie's sour aftertaste. Yakin delivers a dire indictment of working mothers, and plays the patently unhealthy relationship between Molly and Ray for laughs. Did he honestly think it would be funny to watch them slap, ignore and insult each other?
Meanwhile, it's impossible even to guess his intended audience. Molly's chemistry-free romance with a rock star will bore teens, while adults should resent the movie's emotional manipulation.
And youngsters? Well, after pointing out numerous plot holes and accurately predicting the ending, my 9-year-old date could only sigh loudly and ask, "How corny can a movie get?" "
I don't get it what did we do wrong I mean sure it was a more serious movie but I didn't expect people to hate it! :( I'm gunna go some where and cry....*sighs*
