Every little bit
Hello friends, I've not been posting (or even commenting much) lately. Consumed with my daughter's Bat Mitzvah - it was GREAT! - parent producing my other daughter's school play, and politics.
The last thing galvanized me enough to post. NOT about politics (well, not about the US election), but because of a comment to a post over at ontd_political. The post was about the human devastation occurring in the Congo. Reading about that sort of thing makes me feel so helpless and sick to my stomach. I've wanted to save the world since I was a wee thing, and realizing I cannot stop all the suffering has been a bitter pill.
BUT - there are many small things we can all do, and every little bit helps. Yes, it does. So I bookmarked The Hunger Site and plan to click daily.
Furthermore, I did some early holiday shopping through their store and purchased enough to donate 175 cups of food to the hungry.
Finally, I'm posting the link here and encouraging you to check it out as well. We may not be able to relieve all the suffering in the world, but we can choose not to avert our eyes, to do what we can, and to support each other.
