It definately feels like a Tuesday. Work has been a series of fire drills, but at least I get to see my favorite friends tonight and tomorrow! (well besides my hubby of course!) I think I may have a chance to work out at MRF for a friend this year doing wha tI like so I'm excited, but we'll see how it all works out. You never know until the ink on the contract is dry...
On the plus side and interesting note... I've been accepted as a student by a protege of the mother of American Tribal Dance, Jamila Salimpour. My new teacher was one of the founding members of Bal Anat and only takes a few students at a time so I am very excired! Classes start in October so my official "performance season" will be over and hopefuly there won't be any conflicts.
A friend of mine and I are going to start trying out some new stuff with fire staff and flaming sword. Right now we're just trying to figure out which swords we want and whether he should custom order a staff or by one "off the shelf". I am hoping that it works out really well because we have a decent comfort level working with each other and would we would really like to branch off of the regular sword stuff a little - just to keep it interesting. Oh and we're also working on a Middle Eastern syle fight scence so we can really try a new style. Wish me luck.
Ring is the same old sh** and even though we have good performance skills we're never good enough for the "leader". As if he knew how to lead to save his life. I think I have an idea why he may have been "laid off"...last time I looked management involved effective managing.
Anyway - on to brighter things. Lots of things are looking up and I'm hoping that I'm moving in an onward and upward road to improvement!
