Sony turns to the Dark Side! O_O

Well, where Nintendo backed down due to consumer pressure (and failing to win lawsuits) and didn't stop all imports of their games and machines out of region, Sony have stepped in to take over the insanity:

Bad news for all other (non Sony) imports via that site (including the things that were just unavailable anywhere else for the retro market, for those wanting games that will Never be released outside Japan/US, and to those in regions external to the marketing plans). The low budget devving community in the US for the GP2X is also royally screwed (Lik Sang was the only source of this non Sony console).

Apparently it was all to do with "consumer safety", cause, yeah, buying a US machine to play US games that will Never come out in the UK will damage my health when I use bare copper wire to connect it up to the mains due to being too stupid to use an adapter...

Looks like my plans to wait until the Sony machine dropped in price and had perhaps a decent game out (cause in my humble gamer opinion there really aren't any good ones within 6 months of release at least, specially as so many have been canceled for some unexplained reasons...), to purchase one are now well and truly shoved where the sun don't shine (and they were pretty far up there anyway seeing as they are ignoring a Europe release for the new console for around three months cause we just aren't worth it, it seems). Going to need some extra lube.
