My mom is finally reading my book!
She is an incredibly supportive mom and if it wasn't for her I would not be able to be over in the UK right now doing this Master's.
But she never actually reads my stuff. She prefers non-fiction and will occasionally read historical fiction. I also get my love of Sci-Fi, horror and weird things in general from my dad, which is what I like to write about, and those things don't interest her much. When I was doing my cinema studies BA she would read all of my analytical papers but it would take her forever to read any of my screenplays, if she did at all.
But she just texted me now to let me know she's reading what I sent her of the current novel. Not only reading it, but almost finished! And she likes it! (She would tell me if she didn't, or rather, she'd just she "didn't get it.")
Yay for parental approval!
