Just finished a reader's report for our university press that I've been putting off. Huzzah! Now I have to short stories to edit for the uni literary magazine, which must be done by this Friday. (When can I start getting paid for this?)
Speaking of Friday, I have an interview! I'm going to an interview for an editorial work experience placement with LoveFilm.com. One of my cover letter/CV submissions has paid off! Well, it will have paid off if I get the placement. If I succeed, it will be 10-6, Monday-Friday for 2-4 weeks, with travel expenses covered. Interview is at 3pm. If it goes well - yay! If not, I'm going to see Frankenstein again that evening. Yay!
Today is Mardi Gras or, as it is known to my Pennsylvania Dutch brethren, Fastnacht Day! Fastnachts are a special type of doughnut that are eaten in abundance today, if you happen to PA Dutch and if you like them (my mom does not like them, despite being PA Dutch.)
Here is random picture I found on Google:
Yes, they're basically just dough and fat, as is pretty much all PA Dutch food. They can come in assorted varieties, like glazed or sugar coated. Basically, anything that just adds more fat.
Since I can't get fastnachts in this country, nor do I make my own, I just bought a random doughnut from Waitrose. Two actually. One has been eaten. The other is waiting...
And, culf and I cannot stop making penis jokes ever since seeing Frankenstein. And by penis jokes, I mean randomly shouting out the word "penis" whenever we feel it's unnecessary. For example, go see her latest LJ entry.
