Going to see "Frankenstein" at the National Theatre for the first time tonight with
culf . Finally tracked down the page that says who plays who on what date (had it before and lost the link), and tonight it's Benedict Cumberbatch as the Creature and Jonny Lee Miller as Victor Frankenstein.
Will be stage door stalking, of course, and if we are successful in meeting the leads we will a) refrain from speaking in Moriarty-style voices to Mr. Cumberbatch and b) not ask Jonny Lee Miller about "Meat".
It has been getting very good reviews, too, from all the major papers (not that I would turn in my tickets even if people were saying it was awful), so I'm getting even more excited to see it.
For my American-based friends, I know they will be broadcasting it as part of National Theatre Live, I think sometime later this month, but I'm not sure when. If you go on the National Theatre website and go to the National Theatre Live section, you can search for your closest venue. I think this will be worth going to see if you can. (And I believe they are airing it in cinemas twice, so you can see the actors in each role.)
